Things Parents Ask

Pricing?
We charge a play fee for the attended play area - you are never on a timer, and it is a flat fee for as long as you are here.  Our normal play fee is $5 for the 1st child, $4 for the 2nd, $3 for the 3rd and so on. We offer tons of specials in our newsletter & facebook site.

Current specials?
We are offering a $2 play fee with dinner through November.  Frequent Player cards are also on sale through the end of October, 1 card (5 plays) is $15 - $3 per visit, 2 cards (10 plays) are $25 - $2.50 per visit, or 3 cards (15 plays) are $30 - $2 per visit.

We are also offering an early bird special - Monday - Wednesday morning, ask for the early bird special and the first 10 parents receive 1/2 off kid's play.

Can I see my kids?
Of course! The play area is surrounded by windows that are about four feet off the ground. We designed the space this way so parents could peek in on their kids, but the kids really can’t see into the café. We did this based feedback from parents -- first of all, they wanted to be able to observe their children; Secondly, many times very young children who are very happy playing will become upset if they can see their parents and not get to them.

MeTooWhat is your background?
Melissa, the founder, spent more than a decade in non-profit, informal education – including zoo, aquarium, and science centers. She was responsible for the public programming for a major science center in Dallas. Melissa believes that a well designed space that encourages exploration engages children and creates learning opportunities. She also loves great food and great people.

How will you make sure my children are safe?
Nothing is more important to us.  When you check your kids into the playroom, we write your name on their nametag, and only you can check them out.  We designed the space so the door is in the middle of the café, and not near an exterior exit.  The playroom has large windows, so you can always see into the room.  And anyone that will be working with the children has been vetted with an extensive background checks.

The area itself is designed so that children that can walk & are more active are separated from smaller infants & crawlies.

Do you have food for kids? Can they eat with me?
Of course! Our menu includes many kid-friendly items designed especially for the little ones. And yes, kids eat with their parents in the cafe (we do not allow kids to eat in the play area). Even better, if your child wants to eat quickly and then go play, we offer a special 'Fast Lane' service, where we deliver your child's food on a priority basis. Just ask us if you want to take advantage of 'Fast Lane'

My child has a peanut allergy -- can you guarantee that there will be no peanut-based ingredients in the cafe?
Unfortunately, there is no way for us to know what a child ate (or just got on their hands!) before they came to Me Too! Since we can't be sure, we just can't be a 'nut free' establishment. Also, our menu may include items that have peanuts in the processing.  If your child has a nut allergy, please let your server know so that we can prepare their food with specially-cleaned utensils.

Can my children stay with me while I'm relaxing in the cafe?
Children are always welcome in the cafe.  We want families to feel like this is a space where they can be together as well.  We also offer high chairs and comfy rocking chairs so that you can relax with your littles ones in the cafe area.  Of course, we do encourage parents to let their kids to go play, so that they can relax!

Germs?
We know. Kids have germs, ick. First of all, we would ask that anyone sick please stay home. We love ya, just not your germs.  We have a kid friendly foamy-all-natural-non-alcohol hand sanitizer that we encourage all the kids to use. We constantly wipe down toys, as well as the play areas. Finally, we sanitize the whole area every night.

Can I go in the play area?
Our play area is "kids only". This is both for the safety (to ensure that only authorized adults have access to the kids) and their enjoyment. Many times children will be very content and happy playing, but if they see another parent they suddenly panic and feel that their parent should be there as well. It creates confusion and stress for the kids.  The entire play area is visible from windows and we encourage all the peeking you need to feel comfortable!

Given that, if you need to go in and transistion your child to the area - we welcome it.  We want it to be a good experience for both you and your child.  During slower times we can be much more flexible, which is really helpful through that 'clingy-phase'.

What if my child misbehaves?
Hey -- they're kids! We expect them to be kids -- meaning we don't expect perfect behavior. Our play partners are experienced in dealing with children -- and know how to encourage behavior within reasonable boundaries. Sometime all we need is a little break and things are all better.  Of course, we all know that even the most well-behaved child has an especially bad day. In the very rare case where a Mom has to remove her child, we offer a full refund of play fees.
